From the eyes of investors and entrepreneurs
The issue of Impact Investing is gaining more and more strength and was the topic of Turim MFO’s webinar on December 9th.
The online event was mediated by our partner and head of sustainability area, Roberta Goulart, with Dario F. Guarita, entrepreneur and founder of AMATA; Fábio Kestenbaum, co-founder and chairman of the Investment Committee at Positive Ventures; Marcelo Barboza, co-founder and CEO of Labi Exames; and our founder and co-CEO, Gustavo Marini.
During the chat, experts talked about perspectives and difficulties for the sector. For Gustavo, one of the main ones is how to measure impact investments. “That’s because, despite their results being more qualitative, we need to start measuring them with quantitative indexes. It’s a huge challenge. But, in Turin, we love challenges”.
In addition to the difficulty of measuring, Fabio also highlights the importance of checking how the remuneration of impact fund managers is made.
“Today, a manager can no longer think only about financial returns. It has to contemplate social and environmental returns, for example, to see how this portfolio really generates a positive impact”, he summarizes.
